Founded by Michel Lu, The Orientalist Spirits is an all-Asian spirits house built around ingredients, aromatics and distilling influences sourced across the continent, created for top-tier hospitality and modern cocktail culture.
The Orientalist Spirits began with a simple gap Michel Lu believed the industry had overlooked. While Asian cuisines and cocktail cultures were accelerating globally, there was no comparable house of ultra-premium Asian spirits built with the worldʼs best bartenders in mind. So Michel began a spirit journey, starting at Shangri-La and travelling across Asia to source inspiration and ingredients. That ambition became The Orientalist Spirits: each expression is a love letter to the continent and a careful curation grounded in Asian flavour references, from highland grains like Tibetan Barley, to regional botanicals, whether tea, honey from Taiwan or even ginseng from Siberia. These have been shaped into spirits that celebrate all of Asia, and are intended to be enjoyed neat, on ice, or as the foundation for modern cocktails.

The Orientalist 12YO Dragon Whisky 12 years

The Orientalist Dragon Whisky is a twelve year old double-wood matured blend bringing together whiskies from Japan, Taiwan and India - finished in oloroso sherry casks to impart extra richness and depth. Deep amber in colour, it offers notes of dried dates, red fruits and dark chocolate, with aromas of vanilla, raisin, apricot, sherry, spice and gentle smoke. Designed to work both neat and in classic cocktails.
The Orientalist Gunpowder Gin

The Orientalist Gunpowder Gin is infused with 23 botanicals, sourced from across the breadth of Asia, including gunpowder tea, Kampot peppercorn, Korean omija berries, Siberian ginseng and dried tangerine peel. It delivers crisp citrus, gentle spice and a clean balanced finish that works beautifully in a martini or a negroni.
The Orientalist Origins Vodka

The Orientalist Origins Vodka is a truly all Asian spirit crafted from carefully sourced ingredients across the continent. It is triple blended with Taiwanese Longan honey, Tibetan highland barley and nine varieties of potato, then proofed with ultra soft water from Japanʼs Sakurajima Peninsula. The result is a creamy texture with aromatic sweetness and subtle earthy notes, ideal on the rocks or in a bone dry martini.
The Orientalist Solera 23 Imperial Rum

The Orientalist Imperial Rum is a small batch hand-crafted sipping rum made from a blend of rums aged between 6 and 23 years from Thailand, the Philippines and Indonesia. Produced from first pressings of the finest tropical Asian sugarcane, distilled in copper-lined column stills and matured at origin using the classic solera process in ex-bourbon and Pedro Ximenez sherry barrels. It is designed to be enjoyed neat or used in modern cocktail menus.
